HOW TO PLAY

Take 5 is a word guessing game. Guess the hidden word one letter at a time before you run out of chances.

The basics

Each round has a hidden word, shown as a row of blank tiles. Pick letters on the on screen keyboard, or just type on your physical keyboard, to guess what's in the word.

Guess a letter that's in the word, and every unrevealed spot where it appears gets filled in one at a time.
Guess a letter that isn't in the word, and it counts as a mistake.
Reveal every letter before you run out of mistakes, and you win.

Mistakes and the timer

You get ten mistakes per round. Each wrong guess brings you one step closer to losing, and the mistake counter at the bottom right of the image tracks how many you've used. There's also a countdown timer for each guess. If it runs out before you pick a letter, that counts as a mistake too, so don't take too long to decide.

Difficulty

Choose Easy, Medium, or Hard before you start a round. Higher difficulties pull from tougher word lists and give you less time per guess. You can't change difficulty once a round is in progress.

Modes

Daily. Everyone gets the same word for the day, at your chosen difficulty.
Random. A fresh, randomly picked word each round.
VS Friend. Set a word and an optional hint for someone else to guess. Generate a link to send them, or pass the device to play in person.

Stats and sharing

Your wins, losses, and streak are tracked and saved right on your device. After a round ends, use the share button to send your result to a friend.
